Business context

SOM Library sells PDF eBooks — self-help, business, finance, leadership, Christian and health titles — to readers in Kenya.

Buying a digital book should take a couple of minutes. The site had to make browsing, paying and downloading feel simple, including for first-time online buyers.

Design approach

  1. 01Navy and gold with a classic serif, so the store feels like a bookshop rather than a download page.
  2. 02Real book covers in the opening screen, so visitors see what's on offer straight away.
  3. 03A ‘Buy an eBook in 3 simple steps’ section explaining exactly how payment and delivery work.
  4. 04Search in the header and shop categories in the footer, for people who already know what they want.
